Join us on the 17th Annual Duwamish River Festival will celebrate 22 years of community coming together, United for Justice! As in previous years, the 2023 festival will feature a family-friendly mix of activities, arts, culture, advocacy, free food, and entertainment to celebrate and nurture the creation of a healthy Duwamish River-Valley. Come celebrate with community and the Duwamish River!

Where: Duwamish River People’s Park and Shoreline Habitat (8700 Dallas Ave S, Seattle WA 98108) and surrounding areas in the South Park neighborhood

When: The FREE festival goes from 12:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday August 5th, 2023, and will begin with an opening ceremony led by the Duwamish Tribe at 12pm.

The Harbor Island Superfund Site is just downstream of the Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Site.

Harbor Island is an industrial island in Seattle, Washington's Elliott Bay. Built in the early 1900s, the 420-acre island supports businesses that conduct commercial and industrial activities, including ocean and rail transport operations. Commercial and industrial operations on the site contaminated groundwater, sediment, and soil.

The potential sources of contaminants are both legacy pollutants and from potentially ongoing sources.
