Dear DRCC 25 Year Anniversary Guests, Thank you so much for joining us on Saturday, October 3, 2026 to celebrate DRCC's 25 Years of Roots, River and Resilience! We shared an evening filled with energy and community, with food by Bajon Seattle, music by Esteban Naranjo (and dancing - Paulina has moves!), and photography by AJ Tenari. Our program started with an invocation by Duwamish Tribal member Kristina Pearson, and included heartfelt stories about DRCC's roots (by BJ Cummings), the river (by Alberto Rodriguez), and our community's resilience through the years, as shared by our youth, Chris and Miriam. Alberto compared DRCC to the river: "Ever flowing, adapting, shaping, resilient. But never tamed. Never stopping. Never giving up. Actually, giving back!"
Our youth shared their experiences about how, through the Duwamish Valley Youth Corps (DVYC) program, they found a new path forward that gave them purpose and connected them to their community while making meaningful changes. Like Chris shared in his remarks, DVYC helped him become a leader, find his voice, believe in himself and make a difference.
We've raised over $80,000 so far, and are getting closer to our goal of $100,000! We thank all of our sponsors and everyone who donated when they registered, who bought a raffle ticket at the event, or who pulled out their phones and donated during the evening.
